Our Leadership

Mark A. Collin, MA, MFT
Founder/Executive Director
Mark is the founder and executive director of Dovetail Learning. He has worked in and with schools for 18 years developing and teaching Toolbox. Mark has been teaching, studying and practicing in the field of humanistic, Jungian and transpersonal psychology for thirty-seven years. He is in private practice as a marriage and family therapist in Santa Rosa, California.

Chuck Fisher, PhD
 Director of Training & Program Development
Chuck leads the training and program development for Dovetail Learning. He brings 30 years of experience as a counselor and psychologist in grades K – 12 and graduate education. He has directed programs; developed, taught and advised on social emotional curriculum; and, has trained teachers and administrators in private and public education on wellness and childhood development. Dr. Fisher received his PhD from the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology, where he is a member of the adjunct research faculty.

Clint Tripodi
Director of Operations
Clint has 25 years experience providing human resource and operations support for global high technology companies.  He has served as Vice President of Human Resources for companies such as Hitachi Data Systems, nCUBE Corporation, Pacific Broadband Communications and Entera.  In these roles, Clint focused on liquidity events, mergers and acquisitions, human resources strategies, internal communications, and community relations programs.

Danika McKenna, MA
Director of Development
Danika brings more than fifteen years of fundraising experience to her role as Director of Development. She has a successful record of cultivating and sustaining philanthropic relations with foundations, donors, government and civic agencies netting over $20 million in funding for a variety of nonprofits. Danika has worked on three successful high profile Bay Area capital campaigns with cumulative targets of over $250 million. She brings astute attention to detail and follow-through to the crucial organizational task of managing fund development and cultivating gifts and grants from a wide variety of sources.

Keith Samse
Director of Finance
Keith has been accounting for non-profit organizations and municipalities for over 25 years.  Over a 15-year period he was Chief Financial Officer for three cities in Northern California.  He is moving Dovetail Learning forward in the areas of financial forecasting and budgeting, fiscal reporting, internal controls, annual financial audits, grant tracking, program management, and organizational infrastructure.

Peter Hwosch
Videographer
Peter is Documentarian for The Toolbox Project and founder/producer of Hwosch Productions, Make It Real Films and True Wealth Trainings. Peter is a documentary producer, recording and performing songwriter/composer, trained mediator and a certified facilitator for The Compassionate Listening Project (TCLP). His work includes producing documentary films, original music, co-directing non-profit projects and various efforts for transformational change around the world.

Laurel Collin
Executive Assistant
Laurel has been working with Dovetail Learning since its inception. She manages all things Dovetail, including our office, client communications, vendor relationships, daily financial management, and keeping the “Treehouse” (our office) in high spirits.

WestEd, Health and Human Development Program 
Since 2009, Dovetail Learning has partnered with WestEd on further development of the Toolbox curriculum, with a particular emphasis on classroom-readiness and developmental appropriateness at each grade level. WestEd has also been involved in assessment of Toolbox impacts. WestEd is a recognized leader in the field of childhood resilience.  They also developed and maintain the nation’s most comprehensive school-based health and behavior data collection system: the California Healthy Kids Survey for students and its companion School Climate Survey for staff.

California Parenting Institute (CPI)
Dovetail Learning has been in collaboration with CPI since 2009 providing services to Bellevue School District, in Santa Rosa, CA combining Toolbox with counseling led pull-out groups and CPI parent education support and in-home parenting services. California Parenting Institute has a strength-based philosophy and uses both proven evidence-based and innovative practices to help and heal children, educate and support parents, and enhance parent competency.
