We Are Resilient™
Resilience Professional Development
This foundation training starts by examining our protective emotional patterns, which can protect us in times of stress but also can get in our way. The main focus is to strengthen educators centering skills and increase their capacity to mitigate the effects of vicarious trauma and compassion fatigue . Through interactive experiences and group discussion, we explore a set of practical and pragmatic social and emotional skills that we can use personally, with each other, and as a group to strengthen our resilience. It can be delivered in-person or as a virtual webinar.
In this training, we deepen staff members’ resiliency skills in connecting and collaborating. School staff will have an opportunity to explore their personal resilience practices, reflecting on what is working and what needs adapting in order to strengthen their ability to center themselves, and connect and collaborate effectively with others. Significant time is allocated to exploring group dynamics and new agreements that can create sustainable and permanent change for improved organizational resiliency and wellness within your company. It can be delivered in-person or as a virtual webinar.
This in-person or virtual small group learning model works with up to 12 educators and one lead coach in a video virtual learning environment. Sessions progress through the We Are Resilient™ curriculum in a sequential fashion that deepen the participants’ experience over six weeks. It can serve as the perfect non-evaluative coaching opportunity for educators who need support and coaching that Administrators cannot provide with given their work demands.
This is a workshop for Administrative staff or other team members to learn how to lead We Are Resilient™ team member learning circles and ensure continuous learning and strengthening of educators competence for practical social and emotional skills and their mental health.
Concentrating on PBIS leadership teams, Dovetail Learning helps coach improvements and adaptations of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS . PBIS, as a framework, has many interpretations, versions, and levels of implementation across the Nation. Our new, open-educational resources, We Are Resilient, is the perfect evolution of what has been a powerful and pervasive framework for schools in improving school climates. We Are Resilient™ elegantly leverages existing school structures/ practices and is the perfect uplift and modification of the existing work you and your staff have already done. We Are Resilient strengthens and supports what you already do!
Students and staff who have experienced trauma may become triggered into a “freeze, flight, or fight” response that erodes safety within a school community. Too often, educational systems and practices reinforce those triggers, and/or misread trauma symptoms as learning or behavioral issues. In this consulting progression, educators will:
- Realize the science of ACEs/Trauma
- Recognize patterns of trauma in others
- Respond appropriately to students, parents, and colleagues who need support
- Resist Re-traumatization by evaluating systems and practices
