We Are Resilient

What The Approach Is And How It Helps

Life is full of stress, conflict, and uncertainty. Too often, we protect ourselves in ways that push us apart—making assumptions, blaming, shutting down, or lashing out. We may judge ourselves harshly, set poor boundaries, or fail to give ourselves the compassion we need to thrive. Without adults who model healthy resilience, children struggle to integrate these essential skills into their own lives.

We Are Resilient™ was created to change that. Built on research and lived experience, it reframes mental health from stigmatized treatment to proactive prevention. It offers practical, strengths-based skills that help us reclaim calm, deepen relationships, and face challenges with courage. Small, intentional changes can lead to breakthroughs in how we think, feel, and act—transforming not only our own lives but also the communities we are part of.

The approach is universal, accessible, and adaptable. Whether you are an educator, parent, healthcare provider, first responder, or business leader, We Are Resilient™ helps you strengthen your well-being, foster belonging, and create healthier systems. Participants report more confidence, optimism, and connection—and 97% say they feel better able to manage stress, regulate emotions, and strengthen relationships.

How It Works

Resilience isn’t about never getting thrown off balance—it’s about finding our way back to center so we can connect and collaborate more effectively. The We Are Resilient™ approach makes this practical and doable, combining mindfulness, social and emotional learning, trauma-informed care, and equity practices into a simple, powerful roadmap:

  • Protective & Cultural Patterns
We all have patterns that both shield and limit us. Recognizing them is the first step toward making healthier choices.
  • Resilient Skills
Practical, learnable tools in three categories:
  • Resilient Mindsets
Choosing curiosity, courage, and awareness of choice opens new possibilities for growth and connection.
  • Five Dimensions of Resilience
    • Reactivedefault patterns triggered by stress or fear
    • Personal – inner balance and well-being
    • Relational – trust and connection with others
    • Group – shared purpose and collaboration
    • Cultural – humility and respect for diverse lived experiences

Our practice–model–coach method ensures these skills take root.  We all learn them for ourselves, model them for others, and pass them on through coaching and daily interactions. Delivered through trainings, workshops, coaching, and freely available open educational resources, We Are Resilient™ is designed to scale and sustain lasting change—within individuals, families, schools, organizations, and communities.
